A rattled Islamabad targets Gilgit Baltistan after its failure at reigning in Imran supporters

Gilgit Baltistan, 16 MAY, 2023: - As Imran Khan supporters wreaked havoc across the country following the former Pakistani Prime Minister’s arrest. The state agencies launched a massive crackdown on his followers. A number of them were detained and imprisoned. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif publicly vowed to crush the voices of dissent. The government however appeared unjustifiably overreaching when it arrested the Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers of the illegally-held territory of Gilgit Baltistan from the state representation office in Islamabad. None of them was involved in any wrongdoing.
