RJP-N demands government to make probe report on Madhesh Movement public
May 22, 2019
Kathmandu (Nepal), May 21 (ANI): Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal has again drawn the government’s attention to make probe report of Madhesh Movement public which was prepared under the leadership of former Justice Girish Chandra Lal. RJP-N Lawmaker Chanda Chaudhary on Monday’s parliament session urged the government to release the report for public viewing. RJP-N has been demanding for the publication of the report for a long time now. Though Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had insisted in his previous address to the parliament that the report would be published soon, however, the report is yet to be publicly accessed. As a matter of fact, the government formed after 2006 has never made the reports made by various commissions public. However, responding to the issue raised by the disgruntled Madhesh-based party’s lawmakers, House Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara claimed that the government would address the issue. The Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal has been long demanding for the release of the report which was submitted to the Government ofNepal in December 2017. The party had demanded for the release of the report prepared by the commission formed under the leadership of Supreme Court former judge Girish Chandra Lal in the year of 2016 to investigate into killing and violence during the Madheshi movement in 2015.
