Russian-made bionic prostheses gearing up for mass production

Moscow (Russia), Feb 18, 2022, (ANI): Russian manufacturer have been working constantly on hand prostheses that has already come a step closer to mass production of these innovative device. These bionic prostheses will return tactile sensations to amputees. Yury Matvienko, who is leading the project, said that there are still many difficulties, such as selection of the necessary components, configuration. An experiment with 2 volunteers also tested new technologies on themselves. The participants involved in this study were able to determine the shape and size of objects by touch. Serial products are also constantly tested here. The company also participated in Cybathlon. Bionic Prosthesis is usually used by competitors. The user controls them with special muscle movements. There is even a sim-card like in a smartphone inside the high-tech device. It also comprises of control electronics and several transmitters, including Bluetooth, inside the palm under plastic cover. Prosthesis with a new function can be launched into production this year.
