Russian Scientists Produce Milk from Peas
Jan 11, 2023
Omsk (Russia), Jan 11, (ANI/TV BRICS): Pea milk latte may soon appear in trendy coffee houses. Scientists at the Omsk Agricultural University have patented a new technology to produce vegetable milk from legume crops, such as from beans and peas. The best domestic varieties, with an increased phytochemical potential, will be used to produce milk. The authors claim that they have pretty much-developed a super food. Pea milk production is low-cost. The technologists need about a kilogram of fresh sprouted peas for a litre of lactose-free drink. Sprouted peas are almost odourless. This is important for the final product. The next step in the process is to grind the grains. The resulting cocktail is filtered and sent for pasteurisation. Pea milk is sweet with a slight malt flavour. It is suitable for mass production. But it is most appreciated by those who like healthy lifestyle and vegetarians. By consuming this milk, a person can avoid allergies, and the nature will not get a carbon footprint. Simply by growing in the ground, legumes saturate the soil with nitrogen. Simply put - they work as a fertiliser.
