Moscow (Russia), Dec 21, (ANI/TV BRICS): Pushkin, Chekhov and Tolstoy are the household names known world over. The plays based on Russian classical literature are staged in theatres in different cities and countries. These performances are popular not only with tourists, but with locals too. Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and Armenia- heads of the leading theatres in these countries joined the round table discussion. They talked about supporting young talents, preservation and development of international cultural links. TV BRICS also promotes Russian classical culture abroad. Zhanna Tolstikova, CEO of the international network, spoke about it."Dostoevsky intercontinental" is a striking example: a documentary by the joint editorial team. Both the media companies of the five countries, partners of the TV BRICS, and researchers of the classic's works have taken part in its creation. The project was timed to coincide with the great writer's bicentenary. There were also the students of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts: this was the first experience of cooperation between GITIS & TV BRICS. The signing of the cooperation agreement with the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts is a continuation of our joint work to promote Russian culture, science and art abroad. The TV BRICS partner network now includes more than 15 higher education institutions in the five countries. According to Grigory Zaslavsky, GITIS cooperate with leading drama schools in India and China. There are students coming from the five countries. And this means there are bound to be many ideas for new joint projects.
