‘Sao Joao’ Festival fervour grips Goa

Panaji (Goa), June 25 (ANI): To mark the beginning of revelry in the ‘Sao Joao’ Festival on June 24, residents flocked in a large number to wells, ponds to celebrate the festival. A huge crowd was seen participating in a boat parade in front of St Anthony Church in Siolim. The Festival is being celebrated after 2-year COVID-19-induced gap. 'Sao Joao' festival is celebrated to honour Saint John the Baptist, who baptised Lord Jesus on the river of Jordan.
