Scientists successfully produce indoor saffron on experiment bases in Kashmir

Pampore (J&K), Dec 17 (ANI): For the promotion of Saffron crop, Scientists of Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) produced Indoor Saffron Crop successfully on experimental bases with positive results in Kashmir. This cultivation helped those farmers to produce the same quality of saffron in medium size of rooms. Scientists used plastic trays, specific seeds and they also used racks to keep all the saffron inside the dark room and maintain the temperature for better results. Some progressive growers started this process again and hoped that more people will adopt this technology with the help of the government. Kashmiri Saffron is famous in all over the world due to its purity and considering the most expensive species. Despite that, the fragrance of this unique spice attracted people including tourists.
