Sri Lanka: People celebrate resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo

Colombo (Sri Lanka) July 15 (ANI): Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa tendered his resignation on July 14. The embattled President sent his resignation letter through an email to Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardenaon whose office is checking the legality of the document before making a formal announcement. People were seen celebrating Rajapaksa’s resignation at Galle Face Park in Colombo.
