Srinagar: SPIC MACAY, Indian Army organise classical musical recital at Chinar Auditorium

Srinagar, June 10 (ANI): To pay rich tributes to Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pandit Bhajan Sopori, Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) in association with Indian Army organised a musical recital by Japanese Santoor player Takahiro Arai and Kashmiri folk music singer Gulzar Gania at Chinar Auditorium in Badamibagh of Srinagar district. Takahiro Aria interacted with the students and talked about ways to make Indian classical music more popular among the younger generation. Many military and civilian dignitaries of Badamibagh graced the occasion. The children of Army Public School and youth of Badamibagh turned up in large number and thoroughly enjoyed the classical concert. The concert received a positive response from locals and it is a testimony of improved peace and harmony in the area. At the end of the concert, the artists were felicitated by the Principal of Army Public School.
