Feb 04, 2024
Agartala (Tripura), February 04 (ANI): Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Saha attended an event on World Cancer Day in Agartala on February 04. The event was organised at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Centre. The theme for the event was Close the Care Gap. World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 04 to raise global awareness, urging cancer prevention, detection, and treatment initiatives. While talking to the media, CM Manik Saha said, “Today is World Cancer Day, we are celebrating it. The whole world is celebrating and in Tripura, there is a Cancer Institute in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Regional Cancer Institute, very good work is being done there. But the basic idea of today should not disappear. So, if any type of cancer or any abnormality is seen then you should consult a doctor immediately so that its diagnosis can be done quickly. It is important to inform everyone about whatever causes cancer, everyone knows it but still it has to be repeated again and again, so stay away from it. Stay away from tobacco, betel nut and plastic so that cancer is reduced. And if it happens to someone then inspire them that it will be fine and everyone should stay with the family and become warriors. Doctors will do their work, but society will also have to boost up in this regard. Prevention is better than cure and prevention is cheaper than cure.”
