Srinagar (J&K), September 13 (ANI): A vibrant Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was recently held at the Jhelum Riverfront, aimed at raising awareness among voters ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. This engaging initiative, organized by the District Election Officer of Srinagar, saw enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges and schools in the city. The program focused on educating the public about the electoral process, highlighting the importance of voting as a fundamental civic duty. As part of the campaign, students took a hands-on approach by setting up a demo polling station, simulating the voting experience for community members. This allowed participants to familiarize themselves with the voting process, including the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and understanding voter rights and responsibilities. In addition to the demo station, students showcased their creativity through various art activities aimed at attracting and engaging potential voters. From vibrant posters to interactive art installations, these presentations sparked conversations about the significance of election participation and the impact of every vote. The collaboration between students and the District Election Office serves as a strong example of grassroots movements fostering electoral participation and strengthening democracy.
