Nov 20, 2023
Lalitpur [Nepal], November 20 (ANI): Chhath Puja is a festival dedicated to the sun that is celebrated with much exuberance in several north-Indian states and even outside the country. The festival concluded in Nepal, with devotees offering 'Araghya' to the rising sun while submerging at the Bagmati River, marking the end of four days of arduous fasting. It is a festival dedicated to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya and is celebrated for four consecutive days with great devotion. Submerging themselves in the Bagmati River, the fasting Hindu women along with their spouses waited for the sun to shine over the horizon. As the sun light fell on the devotees they made the offerings and completed the ritual formally marking the end of four days fasting of Chhath.
