‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ reaches LOC villages in J&K

Uri (J&K), Oct 23 (ANI): Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 has reached along LoC villages in Uri area of Baramulla, J&K. Indian Army ‘Pir Panjal Brigade’ of Dagger Division has initiated a “Cleanliness and Awareness Drive”. The Drive aimed at educating, facilitating children and people of Soni, Churunda and Sukhdar villages. A series of activities are being planned at different villages in Baramulla in order to reach out to maximum people. Under this campaign, a drawing competition was organised at Soni village to enlighten children about health, hygiene. A lecture was organised by the Medical Officer from the Indian Army to educate on the hazards of open defecation. The event saw large turnout of villagers and school going children who participated in Swachhta rally. They also carried out cleaning of the area and vowed to make their villages an “Open Defecation Free” area.
