Hyderabad Jan 21 (ANI): The Telangana government has launched a new project called 'Kanti Velugu,' which provides free eye examination and spectacles to individuals who cannot afford treatment at private institutions. This initiative has aided many individuals in the state, and those who have benefited from it are grateful to the Telangana administration. Medical Officer Dr. Mahmuna said, “This is the second day of the campaign and we are getting almost 100 patients each day. Under the scheme of 'Kanti Velugu', we do screening here. If any diseases are found, we refer the patients to Sarojini hospital. If no major diseases are found, we give them medications and spectacles. The center operates from 9 AM to 4 PM. However, it goes beyond 4 PM as we try to examine the maximum number of people. The response is very good. The people are really appreciating the initiative. The people who do not have money to get their eyes checked are getting an opportunity to do it. All the beneficiaries thank Chief Minister KCR and Telangana Government.
