Telangana govt's mid-day meal scheme boosts participation of students in schools

Hyderabad (Telangana) July 07 (ANI): The mid-day meal Scheme in Telangana has boosted participation of students in government schools. The scheme is designed to improve the nutritional standard of the students. The programme supplies free lunches on working days for children in primary and upper primary classes in the state-run government schools. Children get food like dal, rice, egg and on Saturdays they especially get Veg Biryani. Speaking about the mid-day meals, Mohd Ahmed, a student of class 6 said, “We get mid-day meals every day. We get Dal, rice and egg. The meals are very tasty. We get time to play and teachers are very good.” Speaking about the scheme, Assistant Physical Science teacher the school, said, “Mid-day meal is a very nice concept and its very beneficial for kids. Every day they students get food and on Saturdays they get Veg Biryani also. The government scheme of mid-day meals is a very good initiative.”
