Telangana govt’s ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme helps Muslim minority families marry off their daughters

Nizamabad (Telangana), October 17 (ANI): Poor families from Muslim minority communities in Telangana are getting benefits from the ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme. ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme is a novel initiative set in motion by the Telangana government. The scheme was introduced to assist the marriages of young girls that belong to Muslim minority communities in Telangana. Under this Scheme, one-time financial assistance of Rs 1,00,116 will be given to the bride’s family at the time of marriage. The Scheme became operational on Oct 02, 2014, is applicable to all districts of Telangana. Eligible candidates have to fill out an application form to get the benefit of this scheme. Upon this, the District Minority Welfare Officer will process the applications. One can apply for the Shaadi Mubarak Scheme online or through the ‘Mee Seva portal’.
