Theatre playing a major role in keeping mother language alive in Kashmir

Srinagar (J&K), October 16 (ANI): Theatre has been playing a major role to keep mother language alive and attract youngsters to perform in local plays in Kashmir. Theatre is the basic medium that people in Kashmir are using for the revival of cultural activities including highlighting the importance of their mother tongue. People of Kashmir are giving preference to theatre as it presents maximum plays in the local language. From the cultural and traditional point of view, Kashmir valley is very rich and theatre is considered the backbone of Kashmiri culture and traditions. Theatres in the mother tongue is also inspiring the young generation to stay in touch with cultural and traditional roots. Most theatre plays in Kashmir have discarded English plays to keep their mother tongue alive for future generations
