May 19, 2023
Hiroshima (Japan), May 19 (ANI): As Japan welcomed the G7 leaders in Hiroshima, a pro-democracy Activist from Hong Kong knocked on their doors, asking for help in putting a halt to the human rights violations in his country. “I have come to Japan originally for my work. I started my activist life in Japan. I have come to Hiroshima as I would like to ask for help from G7 countries. Japan is a G7 country so we would like Japan to take action against the Chinese government’s human rights violation. We would like to ask global leaders to stop the human rights violation by means of sanctions. There is a National Security Law in Hong Kong and people don’t have justice. We would like to stop that kind of unfair judgement,” he said. “There will be no more freedom. We cannot have the kind of freedom we had before,” said William on being asked what kind of future he sees for Hong Kong with China’s continued crackdown on democratic rights in his country.
