Panaji, Jan 05 (ANI): Manohar International Airport at Mopa in Goa started its operation from January 05. An IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Goa became the first flight to land at the newly-inaugurated airport. Praising this, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said this is a wonderful step. While talking about having two airports in one city, he said, “The two airports in Goa have geographical distances. So they also serve somewhat different catchment areas. They could supplement each other. They could co-exist. There are more places in the world where one city has multiple airports.” While talking about the potential of the markets, he revealed that they are expecting 1.5 million customers flying in and out in the first year of operation. “We do expect in the first year of operation to have at least 1.5 million customers flying in and out. That’s why we keep the operation at the Dabolim airport, and in addition, we add this new flight to the airport,” said Pieter Elbers. He also delivered a message to the passengers who have unruly behaviour. “Treat our crew, in the way you want to be treated,” he said.
