Tawang (AP), Dec 16 (ANI): Tawang town has now become one of the tourism hotspots of Arunachal Pradesh. The residents witnessed a fast-growing development in the last 6-7 years. This town carries many memories of the 1962 war, India’s most decisive post-independence battles. Despite being an international-bordering town, tourists from both India and foreign countries choose Tawang as one of the best destinations. In recent times, many hotels and homestays have developed in the town to provide accommodation to tourists. Many locals have now come forward to join the tourism sector and have created many job opportunities. According to the locals, there were as many as 6-7 hotels in Tawang in 2005-06, but now there are more than 100 hotels and homestays in the bordering town of Arunachal Pradesh. The Arunachal Pradesh government has also extended its support to those engaged in the tourism sector.
