It was organised by an architect Zoya Khan at the Government Arts Emporium in Srinagar. The exhibition saw a good number of people which includes art lovers and students to enjoy the rich past of Kashmir. People used these clay tiles for their domestic use, in the past some historical and religious places were also decorated with these clay tiles. After modernisation, people changed their lifestyle and started using marbles and other concrete things. This is one of the reason that traditional clay tiles which were once part of Kashmiri culture, lost its glory. With the help of the department of handicrafts, Zoya Khan approaches artisans who has some knowledge about this art and convinced them to provide her specific clay items especially tiles with proper (GLAZE) coating. Due to which, she can display these items during the exhibition aimed to restore the glory of traditional clay tiles and teach the young generation about this asset. In the past, usage of the clay tiles was a craze and only limited people could afford to use this product for decorating their houses. That is the reason this exhibition got a huge response from art loving people including the young generation. Everyone was demanding the revival of traditional clay tiles and such type of exhibition should continue in future to attract people towards this dying art.
