The Unconventional Life of Amrita Sher-Gil: A Graphic Novel

Moscow (Russia), Nov 27 (ANI/ TV BRICS): A graphic novel about the life and work of Indian Artist Amrita Sher-Gil was presented in Moscow. The publication is a joint Indian-Hungarian project. The artist has Indian and Hungarian roots. She is called one of the most famous women artists of India of the 20th century. The presentation of a book on the life and work of Amrita Sher-Gil took place at the embassy of the Republic in Russia. The publication of her biography is a joint project of the 2 countries. The authors have chosen the genre of a graphic novel. On the pages are reproduction of the artist's paintings, as well as illustrations in the style of Sher-Gil’s works. The book has been in the making for about a year. In developing the illustrations, the specialist drew on the text of the novel, the story of Amrita Sher-Gil, and the context of the era she lived and worked in. Characteristic details were created using original photographs of those times.
