Uttarakhand avalanche: 8 mountaineers rescued, rescue operation on, informs DGP Ashok Kumar

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Oct 04 (ANI): Updating about the rescue operation of 29 trainees who were trapped in the avalanche that occurred at the Draupadi’s Danda-2 mountain peak in Uttarakhand, State Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar on October 04 informed that 8 out of the 29 people are safe while 2 lady mountaineers have possibly not survived. “8 out of the 29 people are safe while we still searching for the rest. The incident took place at a height of around 14,000 feet. Instructors and the NDRF teams are already there. The Air Force team has already done an aerial recce. Two lady mountaineers have possibly not survived. We will give more information as we find out more,” the DGP said.
