New Palanpur (Gujrat) November 10 (ANI): The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) is working round the clock to complete the dedicated freight corridor project. Various sections of this project have already been operational for movement of freight trains. Apart from this, continuous work is going on the rest of the sections so that they can be completed and opened for traffic within the projected time. Under this, the 62-km-long New Palanpur-New Mehsana and 13-km-long bypass section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor up to New Palanpur-New Chadotar have been recently opened for the operation of freight trains. With this, freight trains are now being operated successfully on the 734-km-long section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. Freight trains can run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour on these tracks. This will increase the freight traffic manifold, as well as reduce the logistics cost. Through this, existing ports and industrial areas will also be connected.
