Srinagar, June 11 (ANI): A week-long exhibition on Architectural Epigraphy attracted people at a large scale in Srinagar. It was organised by the Barakat Trust (London) in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) JK Chapter, Department of Handlooms and Handicraft. The aim was to inform the young generation about the rich and historical past of Kashmir. Calligraphic inscriptions on historic buildings including khanqah, mosques, temples and others were highlighted. The exhibition also highlighted some of the sites through documentation, translations, photographs and recreated drawings. Kashmir has composite cultures and people from different cultures are living with proper brotherhood. Such types of exhibitions or initiatives will play a tremendous role in reviving epigraphy and young generation will learn a lot of things about the rich past of Kashmir.
