The ceremony took place in the beethoven hall of the bolshoi theatre.evgeny mironov, people's artist of russia, artistic director of the theatre of nations. He talks about his work with another famous actor, director and teacher valery fokin, head of the national drama theatre of Russia. One more celebrated director who received the award is adolf shapiro. His productions have been staged at the chekhov moscow art theatre, they have been applauded by audiences at the maly theatre and the tovstonogov bolshoi drama theatre. This year there were 15 winners for contribution to theatrical art. "The golden mask" is the oldest russian theatrical award. It was founded in 1993.
