Dhaka (Bangladesh), January 07 (ANI): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on January 07 lauded India- Bangladesh relations. As the country went into Polls amid tight security, Sheikh Hasina cast her vote in Dhaka. She lauded Bangladesh’s relations with India and called the country a “trusted friend". Hasina highlighted India’s role during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. Since the formation of the country, Bangladesh has maintained friendly relations with India. As PM Modi has been vocal for Global South, Sheikh Hasina was invited to India during New Delhi G20 Summit. Earlier also, Hasina had promised to maintain good relations if she will re-elected to power. Millions of registered voters in Bangladesh are voting today to elect 299 lawmakers in the 12th national elections. Amid tight security, the national elections are being carried out at more than 42,000 polling stations.
